Dean is the founder and director of the social/commercial enterprise, Image United which specialising in the not for profit sector and developing campaigns for clients such as Veteran Affairs, Alfred Hospital, Royal Commission and Federal Department for Human Services on social issues such as: Aged Care, Disability, Dementia, Youth suicide, Fostering, PTSD and Depression.
Dean has been shortlisted many times over for the most prestigious awards including, William & Winifred Bowness, Josephine Ulbrick, National Portrait Photography, Moran and Head On prizes. His video art pieces have been performed at various international events including, Zagreb Biennale, Adelaide Festival and George Pompidou Centre, Paris.
He was a founding member and Victorian Chair for the Arts Party, the world’s first political party for the arts and founding member of the international photography collective, FotoInnuendo. His latest exhibition, entitled Pseudonym, is to be exhibited at Linden Galleries, 2021.
Dean has lectured and developed programs on photography for 20 years. This includes teacher training, developing programs for social welfare organisations such as Oasis - Salvation Army, The Funding Network and Federal Government organisations. He continues to run his own workshops and teaches at various colleges and institutions in Melbourne.
