Devika Bilimoria is a freelance photographer and multidisciplinary artist who uses lens-based mage making, performance and interactive installation into their practice. In 2007 Devika completed both a Bachelor of Arts in Media (Film and TV) and Fine Arts (Photography) at RMIT, and then received a Cert V in Business in 2011 where their freelancing photography business with national and international clients began. They have experience in working in the film industry, within the Melbourne dance community, with independent artists and non-for-profit organisations.
Devika has been a finalist for photographic works in the William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize (2015,2018), for video art in the Nillumbik Art Prize (2016, 2018), and, for the Macquarie Digital Portrait Award (2015) at the National Portrait Gallery.
Frequently exhibiting in group and solo shows, Devika has presented works with SunStudios, Red Gallery, c3 Contemporary, Dancehouse, Testing Grounds and Seventh Gallery, and, has presented works in festivals such as Mapping Melbourne, The Fringe, TiNA, Sangam and Asia Topa. In 2021 they have been commissioned by the City of Melbourne to be a creative photographer in their Creative Laneways Project.
Devika has been with PSC since 2019 teaching the Mentoring and Industry Practicum and Creative Industries: the business of photography.
