POSITION
Kaitlyn teaches across our course programs, from the Bachelor of Photography & Digital Imaging to the Advanced Diploma of Photography.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Kaitlyn specialises in teaching post-production at Photography Studies College and has a teaching style that is very inclusive. Teaching post-production with software such as Lightroom and Photoshop requires an ability to teach a wide range of skill levels from those who lack any confidence and need additional support through to those who thrive in the digital environment and keep pushing the limits.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Kaitlyn is a documentary photographer, videographer and visual artist employing photography, video and the archive. She has extensive experience as a photo editor and in image production planning and execution. She utilises her upbringing in rural Victoria as a source of inspiration for her photographic work; her current practice is focussed on documenting the ever-changing landscape of regional Australia and explores the impact of past events on the contemporary landscape. Her Masters degree research project Fordtown looked at the human cost of post industrialisation through the exploration of the ramifications of the closure of Ford’s manufacturing facilities in her home town of Geelong. Her work has been collected by various organisations including the Australian National Library and the Asia Pacific Photobook Archive. Her work has also been exhibited throughout Melbourne including at the Centre for Contemporary Photography and the Museum of Australian Photography.
