INTERVIEW
The interview is a way for us to get to know you, how you express your creativity and your interest in image making and photography. This is your opportunity to tell us about your dreams, your motivations and what inspires you. Tell us why you've always wanted to pursue a creative course.
The interview is not panel-based but personal, informal and usually one-on-one.
You'll have the opportunity to answer questions about your creative work and discuss your interests and motivation. You'll have a chance to ask questions as well.
The interview will be conducted together with your creative work presentation.
CREATIVE WORK PRESENTATION AND INTERVIEW
The creative work that you present at your interview should be your own work and include 8-10 photographs or equivalent. This work may be made up of photography or other mediums such as video or painting, drawing, sculpture or moving image - whatever medium you use to undertake your creative work.
The presentation is your opportunity to discuss your creative work pieces including your ideas, processes and inspirations.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes, the interview can be conducted either on campus or remotely via Zoom. Interviews conducted on campus also include a campus tour.
If your interview is arranged to be via Zoom, you can either email your images to study@psc.edu.au in advance, send through a website or there is an option to share screen via Zoom.
You can present 8-10 images. They can be from one body of work or it can be a mix. The interviewer will ask you to talk them through the images; why you took them, what you like about your work, and what you'd like to improve on.
The folio can be presented either as physical prints or as digital files. If you are presenting your images digitally, please make sure they're on a laptop or iPad. You can also bring your images in on a USB or hard drive. Phone screens are too small!
The interview generally goes for about 30 minutes. Aside from being asked questions, it's also your opportunity to ask us questions.
No, you'll just need to attend the one interview. If you're unsure which course is best for you, the interview is often a great time to discuss this.
Generally not. During the interview, we want to hear from you. If your family member or friend has any questions, we'll invite them to join in either after the interview is completed or before hand.
The interviewer wants to know that you have a passion and interest in photography. They'll also want to find out what you know about photography and what you don't know. They may also ask how we can support you in your learning and what you want to gain from studying with us at PSC.
You'll know the outcome of the interview generally within 24-48 hours.
