Dr. David Rosetzky

BFA, PhD.

David has been a part-time lecturer of Theory and History of Art at PSC since June 2016.

He has been a lecturer for the past 17 years, and has previously taught and guest lectured at the Victorian College of the Arts (AU), Monash University (AU), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (AU), Monash University Prato Centre (ITL) and Glasgow School of Art (SCT).

David has an extensive exhibition history both in Australia and overseas. His ‘Portrait of Cate Blanchett‘ (2008), commissioned by The National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, was exhibited in the Third ICP Triennial of Photography and Video at the International Centre for Photography in New York. In 2005 he was awarded the Anne Landa Award for the Moving Image. David’s solo projects include Gaps (2015), co-commissioned by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne and Carriageworks, Sydney and How To Feel - the 2011 ACCA Commission.

In 2014 the Centre for Contemporary Photography curated the survey exhibition True Self: David Rosetzky Selected works, which toured nationally. His works are held in numerous collections including The National Gallery of Victoria, The National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery of South Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia, The Buxton Collection and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. He was a iudge in the 2018 Bowness Photography Prize at the Monash Gallery of Art.
