Career Outlook & Pathway


The Undergraduate Certificate of Digital Imaging provides pathways into further study - advanced standing into the Bachelor of Photography or employment. Once you have completed the course, you are eligible for direct entry and 30 credit points of the 180 credit points required for the Bachelor of Photography degree. Alternatively, it will prepare you for support roles in photography and the creative industries, such as digital retouching, cataloguing digital content, being a visual editing assistant or working as a photography assistant. In the course, you will undertake 4 subjects, providing 30 credit points of the 180 credit points for the Bachelor of Photography qualification. Alternatively, it will prepare you for photography and digital imaging support roles, such as cataloguing digital content, digital retouching, or a visual editing assistant. This course provides a skills pathway to the Bachelor of Photography degree.

Summary

Undergraduate Certificate of Digital Imaging

This course is an accredited fully FEE-HELP enabled higher education qualification allowing you to take a shorter block of deep and rich learning while undertaking an introductory tertiary level experience and photographic qualification.

In this course, the emphasis is on digital capture, workflow and digital technology skills, which are so important in today’s world. You will cover all the technical aspects needed to produce creative photographic images, ensuring you gain comprehensive skills in digital capture, workflow and image management. You will further these skills with digital post-production and professional printing techniques as you progress. In addition, you will explore shooting on location and in the studio, using tungsten lights, speedlights and reflectors. Additionally, you will work with mixed lighting and lighting design in the studio, introducing you to studio photography, lighting and creative image construction.

Flexible Study Options

You can choose to study face-to-face on campus or in real-time via Zoom using our flexible remote delivery option. This option perfectly suits regional or interstate students in Australia who prefer to study more economically in the comfort of their homes or international students within +2 or -3 time zones from Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

All applicants should complete and submit the Undergraduate Certificate of Digital Imaging application form.

Applicants for the course are required to demonstrate appropriate levels of English language proficiency consistent with studying in tertiary education. Upon receiving your application, you will be contacted to arrange your interview and folio presentation.

Government Assistance

FEE-HELP Tuition Fee Assistance

PSC is an approved FEE-HELP provider.

FEE-HELP is a government loan scheme that assists eligible fee paying students with loans to pay all or part of their tuition fees. It cannot be used for additional study costs such as equipment and materials, accommodation, living expenses or other costs. It is available to Australian Citizens or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa who are enrolled in a higher education course.
